The Draken 3.2 Flight Manual is in Microsoft Compiled HTML Help format (chm). The source files were created five years ago in Robohelp, an application I do not have access to anymore. So there will probably never be a pdf version.

What do you mean by “cannot open”, do you get an error message or does nothing at all happen? Are you referring to the actual help file or the zip archive? What version of Windows are you using? You should provide more information if you expect to get some help.

But lets assume that you are using Windows 8. It is well known that the chm format is badly supported in Windows 8, and you can find solutions to this in many places on the Internet. Try googling “chm windows 8”.

        Good luck /Tom

Thank you for your response Tom.
My computer ia running windows XP SP2 and although I downloaded the zip file, and extracted the file it seems that my computer does not have the correct software to open or print CHM files.
Incidently I am very impressed with your SAAB 35J aircraft. Years ago I made a rather primitive movie featuring the 2.41 version, but after sampling the 3.2 version it is back to the drawing board for another attempt.
          kind regards

Since you are using XP it is strange that you can not open the chm file. I have no problem opening it in Windows 7. But I am also running XP SP2 in a virtual environment on another machine, I will check the file there also ASAP.

I wonder why you are still using the FS9 version, is it because of the 35OE? There will be a 35OE for FSX in the near future, it is actually already in development.

Awesome avatar by the way! ;)

              Hi Tom,
I just found that I can open CHM files on my Windows 7 laptop, so no more mysteries for FS9.
Actually I still use FS9 much more than FSX because I am able to to be more creative with that particular sim. Having immediate access to the ’35’ OE turned out to be a personal bonus.
I have on YouTube about 65 flt.sim. movies, and have thousands of screen shots and many articles published, over the years in PCPilot magazine.
In reality my computer skills are not, because of my age, at today’s cutting edge, but I manage.
I was in the process of making a movie, by request, of the Blackburn Buccaneer when someone mentioned the SAAB 35, but as I was always dissatisfied with my earlier movie decided to see if it had an available update. And now the rest is now history since I searched for a PDF manual.
              best wishes
              Maurice
