Push the spring loaded restart switch ZÜNDUNG upwards for 2—3 seconds.
Throttle between 55 % and 100 %.
Close the drop tank fuel valves (check that ZUS. BEH. warning light is lit).
Emergency electrical bus ON.
Try to maintain 0.75—0.80 M.
When engine has started and engine speed is above 30 % :
Alternator ON.
Emergency electrical bus OFF.
Throttle to Flight Idle.
Drop external tanks.
Wait 5—10 seconds.
Repeat the restart procedure.
If both of the hydraulic systems fail, elevon and rudder control will be drastically reduced and the landing gear has to be extended and locked manually.
Autopilot OFF.
SDB OFF.
Fly straight and level.
Move the gear lever to the extend position to unlock the gear and the hatches.
Pull up to ca. 4 G to make the gear extend completely.
Move the emergency gear lock lever NÖDLUFT LANDSTÄLL forward. This will lock the extended gear and also extend and lock the spurwheel.
Check that the gear indicator shows green lights for the main gear and nose gear. The spur wheel light may remain unlit.
After touchdown, use drag chute to brake.
Shut off the engine when the nose wheel is on the runway.
Reduce throttle to minimum needed power.
Close the afterburner fuel valve.
Land immediately.
Shut down the engine and leave the aircraft.
Close the afterburner fuel valve.
Reduce throttle to minimum needed power.
Press the fire extinguisher switch.
Land immediately.
Shut down the engine and leave the aircraft.
Extend gear.
Counter the spin component by adding left yaw and right roll if you are spinning to the left, and vice versa.
When reasonably stable, point the nose down to increase airspeed and reduce angle of attack.
Retract gear.
Raise the nose smoothly. Do not exceed AOA = 15.
Do not attempt recovery from superstall below 15000 ft.
